TORONTO – Tennis fans across Canada have rallied to TSN's expanded coverage of the 2014 US OPEN, with audiences up 24% through the opening week compared to last year.*

This year TSN has more than doubled its unique hours of US OPEN coverage with the launch of its five national feeds – delivering 300+ hours of live content.

Over the tournament's opening week, more than nine million Canadians have tuned in for US OPEN coverage across TSN's five feeds and RDS.

Other audience highlights from the opening week of the US OPEN include:

• Thursday's US OPEN PRIMETIME telecast featuring Milos Raonic and Genie Bouchard was the most-watched US OPEN opening week telecast ever
• Genie Bouchard's match against Ekaterina Makarova on Monday attracted an average audience of 755,000 viewers on TSN and RDS – with 1.9 million unique viewers tuning to watch some part of the match
• Milos Raonic's marathon fourth round match against Kei Nishikori attracted an average audience of 448,000 viewers on TSN and RDS – with 1.9 million unique viewers across Canada tuning in to watch some part of the match

Expanded programming on TSN's five national feeds
In addition to its exclusive live coverage of the US OPEN, opening week programming on TSN's five national feeds included the addition of the following new programming:

• Eight NCAA College Football games, including multiple options for fans in the traditional Thursday night and Saturday afternoon windows
• The return of ESPN College GameDay to TSN
• NASCAR Sprint Cup qualifying and practice
• Three BPL games in the Saturday 10 a.m. ET window, allowing fans to choose their favourite match
• Multiple windows in which fans could choose from five unique live events happening at the same time
• The addition of more ESPN programming, including a Keith Olbermann special looking at the 25th anniversary of Pete Rose's lifetime ban from baseball

US OPEN on TSN

Canadians can continue to follow expanded coverage of the US OPEN on TSN's five national feeds all the way to the finals. Live coverage continues tomorrow (Thursday, Sept. 4) at 12 noon ET on TSN1, TSN3, TSN4, and TSN5 followed by US OPEN PRIMETIME at 7 p.m. ET on TSN2.**
