Ottawa Senators forward Bobby Ryan left a training camp scrimmage Sunday in the second period following a collision behind the net and was held out for precautionary reasons, the team announced.

Ryan scored 23 goals and 48 points in 70 games for the Senators in 2013-14 before his season ended in late March when he had surgery to repair a sports hernia. Acquired from the Anaheim Ducks on July 5, 2013, Ryan has 170 goals in seven NHL seasons.
