The Montreal Alouettes appear to be interested in free-agent defensive end Michael Sam.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Montreal Alouettes have contacted Sam but have yet to hear back.
Sam, the first openly gay player to be drafted in the NFL, has not been signed to an NFL practice squad since being released by the St. Louis Rams on Saturday.
He cleared waivers on Sunday.
The Rams announced their 10-man practice squad on Monday, which did not include Sam or any other defensive end.
Sam was drafted in the seventh-round (249th overall) in May's NFL Draft.
The Alouettes own Sam's CFL rights.
