TORONTO - Jason Bent, the only one of Ryan Nelsen's assistant coaches to survive Toronto FC's weekend culling, was back on the practice field Tuesday with new manager Greg Vanney.

Vanney was also assisted by Toronto FC academy head goalie coach Jon Conway and under-14 coach Nick Theslof.

Nelsen and five of his assistants were fired Sunday in the wake of a lopsided 3-0 loss to the New England Revolution.

Toronto (9-9-6) has won just three of its last 13 games.

The team heads to Philadelphia for a game Wednesday. The two teams meet again Saturday in Toronto.
