The Montreal Alouettes will retire Anthony Calvillo's number 13 prior to their Oct. 13 game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Thanksgiving Day ceremony will honour the quarterback who retired after last season with the most passing yards, touchdown passes, completions, and pass attempts.

"Having my number 13 retired alongside the team's greatest legends like Sam Etchevery, Peter Dalla Riva and my former teammate Mike Pringle at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium is an incredible privilege", said Calvillo in a statement.

"I consider myself very fortunate to have been surrounded by so many talented individuals throughout my career. Without the contributions from Jim Popp, those exceptional coaches and my great teammates, none of this would have been possible".

Calvillo won the CFL's Most Outstanding Player award three times and was a five-time league all-star.
