Roughriders fans will see quarterback Darian Durant behind centre when Saskatchewan takes on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in Sunday's Labour Day Classic (TSN, 3:30pm et/12:30pm pt).
Durant injured his right hand in last week's 20-16 victory over the Lions at B.C. Place. He received two days of treatment before taking snaps with the first team offence on Wednesday.
On Saturday, the nine-year veteran said his hand still hurts but he will play on Sunday.
Joining Durant on the field for Sunday's action will be newly acquired slotback Weston Dressler.
Dressler re-signed with the Roughriders on Thursday after passing his physical. He was released by the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday and cleared NFL waivers the following day, making him an unrestricted CFL free agent.
"He has that chemistry with me that goes back years and years and I think we're on the same page with everything," said Durant. "We see everything the same way, so I think he's going to bring that big play ability back to the system and it's going good to have him back."
The Riders released the 29-year-old Dressler in January -- roughly two weeks before he was scheduled to become a CFL free agent -- so he could explore his options south of the border. Shortly after working out for the Chiefs, Dressler signed with the NFL club. He appeared in three exhibition games, recording a 19-yard kickoff return.
Saskatchewan is 6-2 on the season and sit tied for second place in the West Division alongside Winnipeg with 12 points.
