WINNIPEG – Dustin Byfuglien may not entirely sound sold yet on his return to forward but his coach certainly does.
Paul Maurice had nothing but good things to say Thursday about how Byfuglien has played since he made the move.
Maurice said Byfuglien is finishing checks, is engaged in what he’s doing and doesn’t at all look like a player who’s waiting for an experiment not to work.
In fact, with Byfuglien’s past experience at both forward and defence, Maurice says he doesn’t view it as an experiment at all and isn’t giving it much thought.
Byfuglien is still hard-pressed to find much to say he likes about the switch but adds his comfort level is increasing.
The Jets host Western Conference rival Vancouver on Friday night at the MTS Centre.
