Vancouver Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo will start Saturday against the Los Angeles Kings in his first game since sustaining a lower-body injury Dec. 22 against the Winnipeg Jets.
Luongo has been working out with goalie coach Roland Melanson and skated with the team Wednesday for the first time since the injury.
"I'm excited to get back on the ice. I feel good and I'm ready to play," Luongo told reporters.
Luongo is 16-9-6 with a 2.24 goals-against average, .920 save percentage and three shutouts in 32 starts this season.
