Edmonton Oilers forward Sam Gagner has been medically cleared to play and will make his season debut Tuesday night when the Toronto Maple Leafs visit Rexall Place.
Gagner practiced on the Oilers' top line at their morning skate, with Nail Yakupov and Jordan Eberle on his wings.
Gagner suffered a broken jaw during the preseason on a stick to the face by the Vancouver Canucks' Zack Kassian, who was suspended for the first five regular season games.
Gagner, 24, is coming off his best season in terms of points-per-game production, as he scored 14 goals with 24 assists while playing all 48 games for the Oilers during the abbreviated 2012-13 season.
