I'd dearly love to have a copy of the out-of-print 'Chicago Transit Authority' quadraphonic DVD. I have a number of surround albums in DTS form, and would be happy to swap one or two for a copy of that Chicago album. The attached list shows my current surround collection. A few notes are necessary to explain that not all albums listed are of the same quality...
First of all you need to note the last column ('On server'): anything with an 'N' there has not yet been digitised, and thus is not yet available for swapping.
I should also mention that all surround tracks on my music server have been 'gain-scaled' so that they sound the same loudness as replay-gain-adjusted stereo tracks (ref. 89dB). However for the digital rips, I could supply unscaled source tracks if desired.
Next you need to note the part of the title in brackets. Those marked just (DTS) have been ripped directly from a DTS CD. But those with a 'Ref.' (my storage slot reference number) beginning ~B are not from production CDs, but CDRs made from (mostly) open-reel quadraphonic tapes. The transcribing, de-hissing and DTS encoding was done by another person, and not to my high standard (noticeable high-frequency loss, perhaps due to misaligned replay head gap, or overzealous hiss reduction processing?). They are not too bad, and certainly better than not having that quad album at all, but not as good as an open-reel tape can be (though I don't know how good those particular original commercial tapes sounded).
Titles marked (SACD) have been digitised from my player's analogue outputs (just the four main channels) and DTS encoded by me. (I'm still searching for a suitable PlayStation 3 to be able to digitally rip SACDs!)
Titles marked (DVD-A) were digitally ripped from DVD-As with DTS tracks.
Those marked (DTS-DVD) - sometimes without the hyphen - were digitally ripped from a normal DVD with DTS sound-track.
If you have the Chicago album to swap and want more details about a particular surround album(s) from my collection, just ask!
