Blue Jays starter Brandon Morrow left Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Braves after just two innings with discomfort in his forearm.
Manager John Gibbons said Morrow was taken out as a precaution.
"We really didn't want to push it at this point," Gibbons explained. "We're (already) a little bit beaten up as it is in the rotation so we're going to be a little more cautious.
"You could see that his velocity was really down early in that first inning and it was something that just wasn't going away."
Morrow gave up two runs on four hits with two strikeouts in his appearance against the Braves.
The Blue Jays told reporters in the press box that Morrow is expected to make his next start on Sunday in San Diego.
