VICTORIA -- Canada's Brad Jacobs dropped a 10-8 decision to Japan's Yusuke Morozumi today at the world men's curling championship.
His Northern Ontario rink fell to 6-2 with the extra-end loss while Japan improved to 3-5.
Morozumi had the hammer in the final end and made a takeout for two points for the win.
Jacobs had forced an extra end by drawing for a pair in the 10th.
In other early games, Scotland's David Murdoch moved into a tie for top spot with an 8-4 win over Norway's Thomas Ulsrud.
Switzerland beat Denmark 7-4 and the United States beat Finland 7-6. Canada will play Russia later in the day.
