NICE, France -- Kaylyn Kyle scored in injury time as Canada salvaged a 1-1 tie with France in exhibition women's soccer action Thursday.
Elodie Thomis gave France a 1-0 lead with a goal at the end of the first half, but Kyle cancelled it out with a goal on the last play of the match.
It was the first meeting between the two sides since Canada beat France 1-0 in the bronze-medal match of the London Olympics, when Diana Matheson scored in the 92nd minute.
"As the half went on in the second half, you could see that confidence started to grow," said Canadian head coach John Herdman. "Once that momentum was built, people started performing at the level that they can. I have to say, I was really impressed with the last 30 minutes."
