[SurroundSound] Newbie intro, and a question

G'day all.

I only learned of this group today, and signed up straight away.  Let me tell you a little about myself...

A retired electronics engineer, I was heavily involved in the quadraphonic era (70s), working for a large Australian electronic consumer products manufacturer (AWA, now defunct).  So I built up a small collection of quad music at that time, and have since replaced some of the old analogue stuff with digital (DTS-encoded) versions.

All my digital music (mono, stereo and DTS quad) is stored in FLACs on my music server, played through Squeezebox v3 units into surround receivers, each with four speakers (various sizes, depending on which room it's in).  My favourite music genre is pop/rock from 50s-70s, but I also have classical, jazz, folk and world music in my collection (about 20k tracks at this stage, and still growing).  I still have some analogue quad music not (yet) available on CD/DVD-A/SACD that I need to transcribe, denoise and DTS encode, but that's a long-term project (other priorities right now).

Now to the question.  I saw in some threads mention of 'the hub', where all sorts of interesting stuff resides.  I gather (from some almost heated discussion in another thread) that this place is not publicly linked, so I was wondering how one accesses it?  Perhaps someone would be kind enough to PM me with details?

Regards, Daniel
