BELLEVILLE, Ont. -- Stephen Silas had two goals and Malcolm Subban made 28 saves as the Belleville Bulls shut out the Mississauga Steelheads 5-0 in Game 5 of their OHL Eastern Conference quarter-final Saturday night.
The win gives Belleville a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Scott Simmonds, Brendan Gaunce, Alan Quine and Austen Brassard also scored for the Bulls.
Belleville opened the scoring with two goals in the final two minutes of the first period.
Simmonds got his second of the playoffs followed by Gaunce's third of the post-season with one tenth of a second left on the clock.
The Bulls continued the offence in the second period with goals from Quine and Brassard. After the fourth goal Tyson Teichmann was pulled in favour of Spencer Martin after facing 18 shots.
Martin stopped nine of 10 shots the rest of the way.
Silas closed out the scoring in the third period with a power-play marker for his first of the playoffs.
Subban registered his first-career OHL playoff shutout.
Game 6 shifts back to Mississauga Monday night. The home team has won every game of the series so far.
