{allcanada} Leafs' Lupul faces hearing for check vs. Lightning

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul faces a hearing with the Department of Player Safety on Thursday afternoon.

The following grounds for potential supplemental discipline are being considered: illegal check to the head. The incident occurred at the :45 mark of the third period during a game Wednesday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Air Canada Centre.

Lupul was assessed a two-minute minor for illegal check to the head following a check against Tampa Bay defenseman Victor Hedman in the neutral zone.

Toronto won the game, 4-2
