The Boston Bruins have claimed forward Kaspars Daugavins off waivers from the Ottawa Senators.
Daugavins made headlines earlier in the season when he attempted a ringette-style shootout against the Bruins that was stopped by goaltender Tuukka Rask.
In 19 games this season, the 24-year-old left-winger has one goal and three points with a minus-7 rating.
Daugavins will be a restricted free agent at the end of the season and has a salary and cap hit of $635,000 on his current deal.
The Riga, Lativa-native was drafted in the third round, 91st overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators.
