One of the longest-lasting figures in the CFL is calling it quits.
The Hamilton Spectator reports that Bob O'Billovich is expected to announce his retirement at a press conference on Monday. O'Billovich had served as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats general manager for the past five seasons.
The 72-year-old had been a coach or personnel man in the CFL since the mid 1970s. He also spent five season as a player in the league prior to that time.
O'Billovich helped turn the Tiger-Cats around when hired in 2007, taking the team to the playoffs in three staight years from 2009-11.
O'Billovich passed on some personnel decision making to now former head coach George Cortez prior to last season. Hamilton hired Kent Austin as head coach, general manager, and vice-president of football operations earlier this off-season.
