Reid Boucher scored three times and Anthony DeAngelo had four assists as the Sarnia Sting downed the host Kingston Frontenacs 5-2 on Sunday afternoon in Ontario Hockey League play.
Boucher has produced 14 goals in his last nine outings and leads the OHL with 45 goals in 51 games. The 19-year-old winger's three-goal performance was his third hat trick and 10th multi-goal game of the season.
DeAngelo, who extended his point streak to four games and has one goal and eight points in the process, has 41 points in 47 contests, which is good for fourth in scoring for OHL defencemen.
Nickolas Latta scored twice for the Sting (28-20-3), who halted a three-game slide, and Alex Basso had three assists.
Spencer Watson and Henri Ikonen scored for the Frontenacs (20-25-5), who dropped their 11th game in a row, and Warren Steele assisted on both of his club's goals.
Ikonen's goal moves him into a tie for the team-lead in points with Darcy Greenaway. Both players have 37 points, however Ikonen has produced his in 46 games, one game less than Greenaway. Despite going pointless in his last five contests, Greenaway still leads Kingston in goals with 21.
JP Anderson stopped 37-of-39 shots for the win as Colin Furlong made 26 saves in a losing cause.
Sarnia, which has the league's third-best power play, went 3 for 8 with the man advantage while Kingston went 1 for 4 with the power play.
Kingston still holds the eighth and final playoff position in the Eastern Conference, despite going 0-8-3 during its current winless streak.
Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Brampton 4, Sudbury 1; Kitchener 11, Erie 4; Oshawa 8, Belleville 2 and Guelph 6, Windsor 3.
At Kingston, Ont., Ikonen opened the scoring 2:08 into the game, but Boucher responded with back-to-back goals to give Sarnia a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes of action.
The Frontenacs put 18 shots against Anderson in the second period and were able to beat him at 18:49 when Watson scored on the power play.
Latta regained the lead for the Sting 2:40 into the third period and Boucher completed his hat trick three minutes later.
Latta tacked on an insurance goal for Sarnia at 7:46.

At Oshawa, Ont., Lucas Lessio scored twice and set up another, Scott Laughton had a goal and two assists and Daniel Altshuller earned his league-leading 27th win of the season as the Generals (29-18-4) beat Belleville (29-14-6) for the fifth time in seven tries this season.

At Windsor, Ont., Tyler Bertuzzi scored two goals, Brock McGinn had a goal and an assist and Garret Sparks made 24 saves as Guelph (29-16-5) doubled up the Spitfires (21-23-7), who trail the Saginaw Spirit by six points for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
