Scott Milanovich capped off his terrific 2012 season by winning the Annis Stukus trophy as CFL Coach of the Year at the CFL Congress in Regina on Thursday.
The first-year head coach was recognized for leading the Toronto Argonauts to a win in the historic 100th Grey Cup played in Toronto.
Milanovich beat out Calgary Stampeders head coach John Hufnagel, the Grey Cup-losing head coach, and BC Lions head coach Mike Benevides, another first-year bench boss.
The Argos finished the regular season at 9-9 one year after finishing 6-12 and last in the East Division. Toronto defeated the Edmonton Eskimos and Montreal Alouettes en route to the Grey Cup where they defeated the Stampeders.
