DTS wavs have been known to play with some players.  There are many things going on.  One is that macs dont change the sampling rate and word length with the material. So you would have to adjust them before playing DTS at least.

Bitstreaming DTS or AC3  (whether in .wav wrappers or not) requires bit-perfect playback...you want the output sample rate and bit depth to stay unaltered.  Alteration will lead to noise as output.
