MONTREAL -- CTV is reporting that police near Montreal have raided the home of former Canadiens forward Georges Laraque as part of a fraud investigation.
Laraque told the television network the documents seized were related to Super-Glide Canada, a synthetic ice panel company he co-founded with Montreal-based engineer Marc Filion.
CTV says Laraque, who is the deputy leader of the Green party of Canada, has accused Filion of taking company money to pay off debts and that the two men are suing each other.
The former hockey player says police seized documents relating to the minutes of company meetings.
Longueuil police spokesman Mark David would only confirm officers raided a home in suburban Brossard and were looking for documents.
He said the investigation is tied to a fraud complaint filed in April 2012.
The Green party says Laraque will remain deputy leader.
