Agreed. If you notice I've only talked back when people attacked my country on this forum I do not believe it is a place for this kind of discussion.
I do find it strange that people feel that America is the big problem here, without Americo he wouldn't have freedom of the press or around the world they wouldn't have freedom and safety around the world and most of the people that are writing these emails would probably have not been born because their ancestors would've been crushed by military forces that America foiled and this is the end of my rant here and I really don't want to talk about it anymore here since most of you people don't seem to appreciate what American has done for the world we have the most diversity of people that any other country on the planet we have more freedoms than any other country on the planet.
I'm not saying that you should bow down and agree with the way we do things I think a little respect needs to be paid and the fact that we've made what you're doing today possible.
Lokks,
Please tell people that they can no longer have these kinds of conversations on a ss posts and go off-topic like this.
Thanks
Late for work now.

This isn't the place for politics or religionIf you want to discuss those subjects, please find somewhere else to do it. Here in the UK we had far too much of your election on the TV, i don't want to read about it hereA couple of things...--1. Paul's political views DO NOT represent a majority of people here in the US, as the recent election made perfectly clear.2. I actually agree with Robert, real, and Lokks; the US's stance on Israel is counterproductive and should (finally) be amended, but you see the kind of propaganda and entrenched hatred that has to first be overcome to act accordingly. And Lokks is imminently sensible when talking of the ills of corporate America.3. I also agree with Stephen that perhaps all this political talk would be best on another forum. I quite enjoy lively political discussions, but I come here for all of the members' knowledge and passion about music and surround sound, of which there is an abundance. Political views? Not so much.Just one hopeful American's point of view; take it for what it's worth.--

Guys
I probably started this by winding up SS, which is a consequence of
his self rightousness, so I cannot help it.
It's great that we have off piste debate about things we care about.
Couple of things; the USA is a great place with some tremendous poeple
living there. As with all things you may not agree with the
politicians and a capitalist system that once appeared to work but now
appears to be in favour of greed. It also has some really nasty large
corporations hell bent on squeezing out the last drop, however this
appears to be endemically a global problem and here in the UK we have
our share of this. For example once self (people) owned utility
companies that do nothing but sweat out profit and then ask for us to
invest for them. For the record I do believe that capitalism should
work but we do have to think about the realities of rampant
capitalism, whereupon we are always obssessed that the solution to
all ills is growth, when we live with finite resource.
What I am asking though is that we do not slate off the country per se
but the components that you are unhappy with. US citizens have a great
allegiance to their country which is very commendable and take great
offence when you criticise their country. In the UK and perhaps Europe
we normally couldn't care two hoots as we don't look at things from
the same perspective, so culturally do not see the significance.
Second point I've worked in the Middle East but it was the gulf, not
were the conflicts are, but I do feel anything that results in peace
and stability has got to be a good thind, whatever the rhetoric.
