{allcanada} UFC plans at least four Canadian events in 2013

All signs are pointing to next year being a big one for the Ultimate Fighting Championship in Canada, as UFC director of Canadian operations Tom Wright said there will be at least four UFC events in Canada in 2013 with one of them possibly being a TUF Canada finale.

"We're not that far away from announcing our full 2013 schedule," Wright told (Showdown) Joe Ferraro on UFC Central Radio on Sportsnet 590 The Fan late Thursday. "I can tell you that there's going to be at least four events in Canada and you know that two of them are going to be in Montreal and Toronto because we've announced those two cities as annual tentpole locations for the UFC in 2013 and 2014."

In addition to the events held in Montreal and Toronto over the past few years, the UFC has held two events in Vancouver and one in Calgary. However, Wright indicated that the two other events in 2013 would take place in cities people might not expect.

"There's going to be at least two cities that may surprise a few people when we come out with our schedule and right now we're looking at an additional three, so a total of five events in Canada, for 2014."

One of those events might not be a numbered UFC event either.

Although there has not been an official announcement about The Ultimate Fighter Canada -- the UFC has been planning a Canadian spinoff of the popular reality show for a long time -- Wright also suggested that a TUF Canada finale could be one of the four events north of the border in 2013.
