Re: [SurroundSound] DVD-A to DVD-V

DVD Audio Extractor is going to rip to flac or wav or some such beast.  If you want to burn the DVD-V I think you'd use something like Toast.  The 'core' is the DTS core not the DTS HD MA not the DTS 96/24, just DTS.  If the player in yr car does DVD-V I'd think it'd play just like it'd play in a DVD player.  Should just default to what you can play.  The other alternative is to just author the Video TS folder as an ISO then burn the ISO to disc.  Just leave out the Audio TS folder as that is the MLP info.  Then burn the ISO.  If you use DVDAE you will end up with flac or wav files, not a DVD-V music disc. That wouldn't be yr solution.  Your solution is the latter...just burn the video ts.

Thanks for that fast response. What is the "core"? Also, is there a recommended DVD-V authoring tool? I think the last tool I used was Cirlinca.

DVD audio extractor is probably still the best way to do that.  Of course if it's 24/96 DTS you may only get the core.  Also the rips I've done with flac are DTS encoded flac.  There are a few that somehow retained the 24/96, dunno how.  Vast majority DTS core.  The tool should work A OK for you.  It has a trial that doesn't seem to be feature limited for 30 days.

Please feel free to direct me to earlier emails that may answer this question: I've purchased the two 2012 ELP Deluxe sets. The DTS 5.1 mixes are on DVD-Audio. This plays fine on my home system, but my car system only supports DVD-Video (and DTS CD).

What is the best way to rip and reauthor the DTS from DVD-A to DVD-V, given the current available tools?

Thanks,
