Former Montreal Alouettes linebacker Diamond Ferri is heading West.

Ferri, who was released by the Alouettes in June, signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Wednesday. The Roughriders also signed import linebacker Joe Lobendahn and import defensive back Alonzo Lawrence on Wednesday.

The versatile Ferri, who also returned kicks and played special teams, spent five seasons in Montreal. Last season with the Als, he was fourth in defensive tackles with 50 last season and had three sacks. He also led the team in kickoff return yards with 573.

The 30-year-old has 240 tackles and five interceptions in his CFL career.

Lobendahn, 29, originally entered the CFL in 2008 when he signed a free agent contract with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.  The four year veteran has appeared in 45 career games recording 180 defensive tackles, seven quarterback sacks and one interception.

Lawrence joins the Riders after signing and attending training camp with the Detroit Lions. The Lucedale, Mississippi native attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for two seasons after transferring from Southern Mississippi.
