Actually, I have never used JRMC, although I know it's highly thought of by those who use it. I have relied instead on Foobar, MediaMonkey, and PowerDVD for most of my audio and video playback and streaming with my HTPC.
I figure if I decide to try the HTPC route again, I can always sell my Oppo for close to what I paid for it, maybe even more since it's ISO capable, and invest in some other upgrades. The single biggest drawback to the Oppo for me is the lack of gapless playback for CD rips. There are workarounds like ripping a single per-disc flac file, but it doesn't have gapless playback for individual flac files. DVD-A's and BD's aren't an issue because I can have gapless playback with the ISO. It's really the main reason I haven't totally removed the HTPC from the rack, although it's inconvenient to use since I don't keep it powered on. I also don't know if I should give up the last universal player made by Oppo that probably won't have Cinavia enabled, let alone being the rare ISO-capable universal player.

Yes, foobar can do this for free. If you can afford the JRMC, it's a beautiful, versatile application.

As I said, I'm glad you're happy with your solution. It doesn't work as well for me, but to each his own.
