REGINA - The City of Regina is moving ahead with a design concept for a new stadium — even though no land or funding have been secured.
The city concedes the province didn't meet a May 31 deadline the city set when it asked for $230 million in government funding.
And talks with Canadian Pacific Railway to buy land north of downtown aren't finished either.
But officials say staff will work on seating, concessions and washroom ideas for the stadium, which would become the new home of the CFL Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The city's deputy manager says in a news release that the province needs to make a funding commitment soon for the project's timeline to remain intact.
Premier Brad Wall has said the government has more questions and he's sent a letter to the city.
