Friends of Lansdowne will not take its fight on the issue of the legality of the Lansdowne Park redevelopment deal against the CFL group and city of Ottawa to the Supreme Court of Canada, its members announced Thursday.
The decision opens way for stadium construction in the nation's capital and a conditional CFL franchise to come to fruition.
The group had 60 days to appeal the ruling, 45 days after the Ontario Court of Appeal unanimously struck down their appeal of the original decision.
The 2014 season remains the target date and commissioner Mark Cohon recently said that shovels need to be in the ground by the end of the summer to make 2014 happen.
