Re: [SurroundSound] volume issues

Check out the QuadraphonicQuad site.  In the forums there's a topic about adjusting the rears.  As I recall the vast majority of folks tweaking with their rears (erhm...nevermind) were only doing so with DualDiscs.  There were a few exceptions but these particular discs don't sound like they were mastered very well.  Anyway, that's the consensus from the old quad quys.  Most found that discrete SACDs DVD-As were mastered the way they were mastered and listen to them that way.  Even for those albums that have very little in the rears besides reverb tend to be coherent on the whole in terms of how they synergistically act in concert with the other speakers.  Some may be quieter depending on the engineer, but most seem to be keeping in some continuity to the overall mix.

Subject: [SurroundSound] volume issues

When I play most dual disc's in surround sound, the volume goes up and
down on its own. This happens with many different discs. It also
happens when used on my home theater as well as my computer. Is
something wrong with my equipment or is this a problem everyone has?
