Michael Houser of the London Knights was named the Ontario Hockey League's most outstanding player on Wednesday.

Houser is the first goaltender to win the Red Tilson Trophy since Andrew Raycroft in 2000.

The 19-year-old from Wexford, Pa., won an OHL record-tying 46 games and played a CHL-high 3,698 minutes this season. He posted a 2.47 goals-against average and .925 save percentage in 62 games and earned six shutouts.

"It's a huge honour," Houser said in a press release. "There are a lot of great players in the league, especially this year, and it is nice to be recognized.

"It's an award that I couldn't have won without the teammates in front of me. They play hard every night and they make my job a lot easier. A lot of thanks go out to them."

Michael Sgarbossa of the Sudbury Wolves was second in voting for the award, followed by Tyler Toffoli of the Ottawa 67's.

Houser, who is undrafted, was also named the 2011-12 OHL Goaltender of the Year last month.

The London Knights take on the Niagara IceDogs for the OHL championship with the best-of-seven series starting on Thursday night.
