RIMOUSKI, Que. -- Petr Straka scored once and set up three more as the Rimouski Oceanic crushed the visiting Halifax Mooseheads 9-0 on Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.
Alexandre Mallet had a goal and two assists for the Oceanic while Dale Deon and Alex Belzile chipped in with two assists each.
Jean Philippe-Mathieu, Peter Trainor, Jonathan Lavoie and Scott Oke each had a goal and an assist for Rimouski as Jerome Gauthier-Leduc, Francis Beauvillier and Jean-Francois Plante added a goal apiece to round out the scoring.
Brent Andrews was a team-worst minus-4 for the Mooseheads.
Jacob Gervais-Chouinard stopped all 30 shots he faced for his first career post-season shutout while Zachary Fucale allowed six goals on 24 shots before getting pulled in the second period.
Marc-Olivier Daigle stopped 12 of 15 shots in relief.
Rimouski went 2 for 5 on the power play as Halifax failed to score on six chances with the man advantage.
The Oceanic now lead the series 3-2 with Game 6 scheduled for Sunday at the Halifax Metro Centre.
Trainor opened the scoring 1:50 into the game and Plante and Oke added a goal apiece to give Rimouski a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.
Mathieu, Beauvillier and Straka each scored in the span of 3:22 to make it 6-0 for the Oceanic midway through the second period.
Straka's goal at 14:26 forced Fucale out of Halifax's net.
Leduc added one more goal for Rimouski to make it 7-0 after two periods of play.
Mallet scored at 11:41 of the third period and Lavoie added one more at 18:34.
