Featherweight Mark (The Machine) Hominick will get the chance to put his 6.26-second knockout loss behind him in March when he takes on Eddie (The Filipino Phenom) Yagin at UFC 145 in Montreal.
Fellow Canadian Mark Bocek has also been added to the March 24 card at the Bell Centre. The 30-year-old lightweight from Woodbridge, Ont., will take on (Handsome) Matt Wiman.
Bocek (10-4) is coming off a decision win over Nik (The Carny) Lentz at UFC 140 on Dec. 10 in Toronto. Wiman (14-6) defeated Mac Danzig last time out in October.
Hominick (20-10) paid for an over-eager start at UFC 140 at the Air Canada Centre when he swung at Chan Sung Jung right after the opening bell. The South Korean -- nicknamed the Korean Zombie -- slipped the punch and felled the 29-year-old from Thamesford, Ont.
UFC president Dana White said subsequently that the Hominick KO was the organization's second-fastest.
The UFC recently revised its record book to show Duane Ludwig's 2006 KO over Quebec's Jonathan Goulet as the fastest at 6.06 seconds. The timekeeper had originally recorded it as 11 seconds.
Todd Duffee's KO of Edmonton's Tim (The Thrashing Machine) Hague is third-fastest at 7.56 seconds.
The UFC says those record revisions may not be adopted by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, however.
Yagin (15-5-1) lost his UFC debut to Junior Assuncao at UFC 135 in September.
Fights previously announced for the Montreal show include heavyweights (Big) Ben Rothwell versus Brendan (The Hybrid) Schaub and former Strikeforce fighter Chad Griggs against unbeaten Travis Browne.
Rory (Ares) MacDonald, a welterweight from Kelowna, B.C., who now trains out of Montreal, will face England's (Beautiful) Che Mills.
