My yamaha is a bit older but it supposedly had networking abilities. It unfortunately only worked for two channel sources and not all that well.  As clunky as my oppo is to navigate long lists the yammy was excruciating.  That said if it has any kinda multi-dac implementation like mine it absolutely bettered my Oppos dac which I bypass for MC sources.  You might be surprised how well the dacs in your yammie perform.  I was.  For networking (unless they have improved dramatically...and it is possible) though it was not the panacea I was hoping for.  It was also extremely limited if I remember.  I think you get 16/44.1 and dats it.  You may find using it as an amp with another transport works better even if the Yammy ends up decoding anyway.  YMMV of course.  I am consistently wowed by the sound of my AVR.  I think got lucky with this one.  Same deal...paid about 600 for the amp when it was listing for 1400 (and in some places still is tho I cannot imagine who is buying at that price) on amazon...Good luck!  You shouldnt have any problems decoding the multichannel stuff with another transport if you find their DLNA or what have you lacking.
