LAKE LOUISE, Alta. -- Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway won Sunday's super-G at the Lake Louise Winterstart World Cup and Canadian Jan Hudec finished just off the podium in fourth.
It was Svindal's third super-G victory at Lake Louise after victories in 2007 and 2005.
The Norwegian posted a winning time of one minute 23.47 seconds. Didier Cuche of Switzerland followed up his downhill victory Saturday with a second-place finish in 1:23.70.
Adrien Theaux of France was third in 1:24.11. Hudec, from Calgary, crossed the line in 1:24.21. Erik Guay of Mont-Tremblant, Que., was sixth.
Falling snow and gusting winds at the top of the course reduced visibility, so organizers lowered the super-G start 158 metres to what is traditionally the women's start hut.
The men travel to Beaver Creek, Colo., for a downhill, super-G and giant slalom Friday through Sunday respectively.
