SYDNEY, N.S. - Dany Potvin scored the winner midway through the third period as the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles beat the Val-d'Or Foreurs 6-5 in the lone Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game on Thursday.
Jonathan Brunelle had a goal and three assists for Cape Breton (9-11-1), while Logan Shaw, William Carrier and Morgan Ellis each added a goal and an assist.
Sebastien Payette had the other Screaming Eagles goal, while David Rose picked up three assists.
Vladislav Shalimov had two goals and an assist for Val-d'Or (9-11-2), which also got a goal and two assists from Nicolas Larocque-Marcoux.
Cedrick Henley added a goal and an assist and Benjamin Casavant also scored for the Foreurs.
Philippe Trudeau made just 17 saves to pick up the win, while Francois Tremblay stopped 40 shots in defeat.
