NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. -- Boone Jenner scored a goal and an assist and Kevin Bailie made 42 saves as the Oshawa Generals won 5-3 over the Niagara IceDogs on Thursday night in the Ontario Hockey League.

With just 17 seconds left in the frame, Steven Shipley roofed a shot from the slot after a nifty drop-pass by Myles Doan to tie 1-1 after Lucas Lessio opened the scoring at 6:49.

Lessio picked up the puck in the neutral zone, slipped behind Niagara's defence, and placed a backhand right through the five-hole of Mark Visentin.

Niagara's Ryan Strome scored a power-play goal from the top of the circles that deflected past Bailie off of an Oshawa defender's stick to put the Generals down 2-1 early in the second period.

The Generals tied the game at 8:45 when JP Labardo scored his seventh goal of the season by hammering a slap shot home.

Oshawa (8-8-2) took a 3-2 lead when Nicklas Jensen notched a power-play marker with a quick release from the slot at 12:09.

The Generals buried their third unanswered goal early in the third period on an Andy Andreoff wraparound that was too quick for the left pad of Visentin.

The IceDogs (7-7-2) narrowed the score to 4-3 on Jesse Graham's goal, but Jenner ended any doubt about the game's outcome at 15:29 when he scored unassisted.

WINDSOR, Ont. -- Ivan Telegin scored a goal and added two assists and Mathias Niederberger made 40 saves as the Barrie Colts defeated the Windsor Spitfires 5-2 on Thursday in the Ontario Hockey League.

Steven Beyers, Aaron Ekblad, Greg Sutch and Zach Hall all chipped in with a goal for the Colts (8-6-1).

Kerby Rychel replied with his 10th and 11th goals of the season for the Spitfires (8-9-2), who have dropped seven straight.

John Cullen made 26 saves for the Spitfires.

BRAMPTON, Ont. -- Philip Lane scored both goals for the Battalion as Brampton edged the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors 2-1 on Thursday night in the Ontario Hockey League.

The Majors opened the scoring at 2:14 of the first when Sergey Kuptsov converted Eric Diodati's feed to beat Matej Machovsky.

Lane responded four minutes later on first of the night and scored the go-ahead goal unassisted at 17:49 of the second period.

The Battalion (9-5-2) moved to within two points of the Majors (10-4-2) atop the Eastern Conference's Central Division.

JP Anderson was excellent in net for the Majors despite taking the loss as he turned aside 42 of 44 shots.

Machovsky made 16 saves for the Battalion, who has given up the least amount of goals in the league with only 37 surrendered.

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. -- Mike Morrison made 38 saves Thursday in leading the Peterborough Petes to a 4-3 win over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in Ontario Hockey League action.

Matt Puempel scored twice for Peterborough (8-5-3), while Alan Quine and Nick Ritchie had the other goals.

David Elsner had two goals and one assist for Sault Ste. Marie (10-7-0), while Cory Durocher added a goal and two assists.

Matt Murray made 29 saves in defeat.

Puempel, an Ottawa Senators first-round pick in June, scored a pair of goals 1:25 apart to help the Petes take a 3-1 first-period lead after Quine had opened the scoring on the power play.

Quine circled in the corner, carried the puck to the front and slid a backhand just inside the far post. Ritchie scored just under two minutes into the second to put the Petes ahead by three.

The Greyhounds turned the momentum with a pair less than two minutes apart in the second, but couldn't get the equalizer. The game was scoreless for its final 24 minutes.

Peterborough finished 1-for-3 on the power play, while Sault Ste. Marie wound up 0-for-5.
