TORONTO -- Toronto FC waived seven players, including striker Javier Martina, following Major League Soccer's expansion draft Wednesday.
TFC also released defenders Demitrius Omphroy, Eddy Viator, Kyle Davies and midfielders Leandre Griffit, Matt Gold and Gianluca Zavarise.
All seven players were left unprotected ahead of Wednesday's draft to stock the Montreal Impact, who will join the MLS next season.
Martina started the 2011 campaign strong, scoring a highlight-reel goal in Toronto's home opener against the Portland Timbers back in March.
But the Dutch striker seemed to fall out of favour with coach Aron Winter, scoring just one more goal in the MLS the rest of the way.
Griffit, meanwhile, joined TFC in a trade with Columbus mid-season, but failed to make much of an impact in limited action.
