VANCOUVER -- B.C. Lions defensive back Tad Kornegay says playing in this year's Grey Cup is a surreal experience.
Kornegay started the season with the Saskatchewan Roughriders but was released after three games. He was signed by the Lions when they were 0-5 and helped B.C. win its first game of the season.
The Lions finished first in the CFL West and will play the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in Sunday's Grey Cup.
Kornegay says as soon as he arrived in B.C. he knew the team had the talent to win. B.C.'s defence finished the season allowing the least points of any CFL team and held opponents to six points or less four times.
This will be Kornegay's fourth Grey Cup. He won with Saskatchewan in 2007. He also was on the Rider teams that lost to Montreal the last two seasons.
Kornegay says a win Sunday will help ease some of the disappointment he felt in those loses.
