BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP)—Jhonas Enroth(notes) made 29 saves to lift the Buffalo Sabres to a 2-1 win over the Calgary Flames on Friday night.

Enroth, making his third start of the season, was steady throughout to improve to 12-3-2 in his career. He had his scoreless string of 107:39 snapped when Calgary's Alex Tanguay(notes) scored early in the third period.

Drew Stafford(notes) and Nathan Gerbe(notes) scored for the Sabres (7-5-0), who won for just the second time in their last six games.

Backup Henrik Karlsson(notes), making his third start of the season, finished with 42 saves for Calgary (5-6-1). The Flames have lost two of three, and failed to build on Thursday's 4-1 win in Detroit.

Gerbe upped Buffalo's lead to 2-0 with his third of the season just 1:45 into the final period, one-timing a shot in from the right circle.

Tanguay spoiled Enroth's shutout bid when he re-directed Jay Bouwmeester's(notes) pass in the high slot at 5:45 of the third.

Stafford opened the scoring with his fourth of the season just under 8 minutes into the opening period. From the top of the left circle he one-timed Derek Roy's(notes) cross-ice pass past Karlsson.
