Because no anniversary party is complete without a cake, the one in downtown Toronto on June 15 to celebrate 25 years of Indy car racing on the streets of the city featured a work of confectionary art.
Cakestar (a local company owned by Monja Chiara and Barbara Accogli) created a replica of a section of the Exhibition Place circuit, complete with the Princes Gate and podium finishers, that was enjoyed by shoppers on fashionable Bloor Street and Sam Schmidt Motorsports driver Alex Tagliani.
The IZOD IndyCar Series returns to the course for the Honda Indy Toronto on July 8-10 -- 25 days out.
The event also featured an interesting display on the sidewalk in front of the William Ashley flagship store involving an IndyCar show car parked on bone china teacups. CHECK OUT THE WILD VIDEO
