Dallas Green's City and Colour made a colourful debut on the Canadian album charts this week.

The Alexisonfire songwriter's third solo project "Little Hell" shot to the top of the album charts this week, selling over 20,000 copies, according to figures compiled Nielsen SoundScan data.

It marks the first No. 1 effort for City and Colour - Green's previous effort, "Bring Me Your Love," peaked at No. 3 back in 2008.

Meanwhile, Adele's "21" (17,000) held on to the No. 2 slot, and Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" (12,000) - the top dog for two straight weeks - slid down to No. 3.

The compilation "Mixmania 2" premiered at No. 4, Rihanna's "Loud" rebounded three spots to land at No. 5, Eddie Vedder's "Ukelele Songs" went down two to No. 6, and the "NOW! Dance 2" collection came in at No. 7.

Closing out the top 10 was Jennifer Lopez's "Love?" at No. 8, Brad Paisley's "This is Country Music" at No. 9, and Death Cab For Cutie's "Codes & Keys" at No. 10.

In the U.S., Adele returned to first, followed by Lady Gaga in second, the "Book of Mormon" Broadway soundtrack in third, Tech N9ne's "All 6's and 7's" in fourth, and Ronnie Dunn's self-titled disc in fifth.
