It appears Jesse Lumsden isn't ready to call an end to his football career just yet.

According to the Calgary Sun, the oft-injured Lumsden has his sights set on returning to the football field as a member of the Stampeders.

Lumsden, who is also a member of Canada's bobsleigh team, signed with the Stampeders last fall but had to undergo reconstructive knee surgery shortly after.

"I love football. I really do," Lumsden told the Sun. "I'm really, really fortunate to have two sports in my life that I care about a lot and work really hard at. But football? Shoot, it gives me goosebumps still thinking about getting on the field."

Despite numerous setbacks due to injury throughout his career, Lumsden still feels he can get back between the lines.

"As long as I continue to keep working forward and keep strengthening and keep pushing myself, there's no reason (a return to football) shouldn't happen," Lumsden told the newspaper.

Off the field, Lumsden is trying to learn a new position on the bobsleigh team. At the Vancouver Olympics, the Hamilton native was a brake-man for Pierre Lueders, who posted fifth-place finishes in the two-man and four-man events. Now Lumsden is attempting to become a pilot himself.
