{allcanada} KOOTENAY ICE'S REINHART NAMED CHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

 

TORONTO -- Max Reinhart of the Kootenay Ice was named the Canadian Hockey League's player of the week Wednesday.

Reinhart scored six goals in two games last week. The 19-year-old forward from Vancouver tied a WHL playoff record by scoring five goals in a 7-2 Game 4 win over Medicine Hat.

The Ice later moved on to the league final, where they will face the Portland Winterhawks.

Reinhart, a Calgary Flames prospect, has 14 goals and eight assists in 14 playoff games.

Owen Sound defenceman Matt Petgrave and Saint John forward Zack Phillips were also considered for the award.

Also Wednesday, Maxime Clermont of the Gatineau Olympiques was named CHL goaltender of the week. He posted a 2-2 record last week with one shutout, a 1.77 goals-against average and .934 save percentage. Gatineau will face Saint John in the QMJHL final.

Clermont, a 19-year-old netminder from Montreal, is a New Jersey Devils prospect. Kootenay's Nathan Lieuwen and J.P. Anderson of the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors were also considered for the award.
