The first trailer for "Green Lantern" was... well, crappy. The GGI looked cheap, plot seemed like an afterthought and Blake Lively struggled to deliver her solitary line.
Fortunately, it looks like Warner Bros. has spent a lot of time polishing it up, because the footage that debuted April 1 at San Francisco's Wondercon is nothing short of awesome.
An abridged clip of the new visuals is below (and streaming over at Apple). In addition to benefiting from the recently cast Geoffrey Rush's vocals (He only signed on to voice the computer-animated character Tomar-Re on Mar. 20), the new scenes have ample back story, awesome graphics and barely a moment of Lively's overacting.
Star Ryan Reynolds is obviously accounted for -- though his cartoonishly pulsating stomach muscles have taken a back seat since the trailer, in favor of hypnotic "Lantern" eyes.
According to multiple dispatches from the con, the clip drove people nuts. What do you think of it?
