Nino Niederreiter and Sven Bartschi each had a four-point night as the Portland Winterhawks held off the Tri-City Americans 6-5 in Western Hockey League action on Tuesday night.
The Western Conference-leading Winterhawks (43-17-3, 89 points) had not won at Toyota Center since Oct. 31 2008 -- Mike Johnston's first game behind the Portland bench. The losing streak spanned 11 games.
Niederreiter had two goals and two assists, and Bartschi one goal and three assists as Portland took a 6-2 lead after two periods.
Elsewhere in the WHL it was: Prince Albert 6 Swift Current 2; Moose Jaw 5 Regina 3; Medicine Hat 4 Red Deer 2; and Seattle 4 Vancouver 2.
At Kennewick, Wash., the Americans (37-21-4, 78 points) scored three times in the third, but fell short in the end.
Tyler Schmidt had three assists, while Brendan Shinnimin, David Conrad, Kruise Reddick, Carter Ashton and Connor Rankin all scored for Tri-City, which has lost three in a row and 6 of 7.
Mac Carruth made 44 saves for Portland while Chris Driedger stopped 29 shots for Tri-City.
Raiders 6 Broncos 2
At Swift Current, Sask., Justin Maylan had a season-high five-point night as Prince Albert beat the Broncos.
Maylan scored his 15th and 16th goals of the season and added three assists.
Jonathan Parker scored twice to reach the 41-goal while rookie Todd Fiddler and Igor Revenko also scored for the Raiders (26-33-5).
Stepan Novotny had both goals for Swift Current (24-40-1).

At Moose Jaw, Sask., Dylan Hood scored three goals to spark the Warriors to a win over Regina.
Sam Fioretti and Andrew Johnson had the other goals for the Warriors (35-23-5).
Richard Blidstand, Dyson Stevenson and Trent Ouellette scored for Regina (22-34-8).

At Red Deer, Alta., Linden Vey had a goal and an assist to lead Medicine Hat over the Rebels.
