{allcanada} Twain laughs off 'bush' quip

Shania Twain was kidded backstage about her Canadian Hall of Fame induction acceptance speech at Sunday night's Junos in which she said: "I love our lakes, I love our bush, and, most of all, I love our people."

When told the Twittersphere was abuzz with her bush comments, she said: "What do you call it a forest?"

"C'mon, I'm from Northern Ontario! It's called the bush in Ontario! Somebody back me up here!'"

On a more serious note, Twain, whose last album was 2002's Up!, said backstage at the Junos on Sunday night that she's currently in the recording studio but couldn't give too many details on either the album or when she might start performing live again given rumors she might be doing a Las Vegas show.

"I'm not sure exactly when I'll be able to get back out on that stage," said Twain, 45, dressed formally in a lavender and black gown. "I am preparing for it, I can tell you that. And I'm already in the studio working on new music and I'm very excited."

In the meantime, Twain has an autobiography coming out and a reality show due on the Oprah Network called Why Not? With Shania Twain, which she said she pitched to Winfrey herself, but says the Hall of Fame induction is right up there in terms of career achievements.

"Well, there's nothing like today. This is a really big moment and feels very genuine in every way. "

She described the TV show as documenting "some of my songwriting process."

"I'm just really glad to be back to songwriting," she added.

Otherwise, she said if she could advise herself on how to behave when she won her first Juno: "I would say enjoy this moment more. I'm a lot more relaxed about it now. I can let a few tears fall. So I would say, 'Take it all in. Enjoy it'."

"I don't feel iconic I can tell you that. I don't feel that way at all. I still feel like a girl from Timmins. That will never change."
