Evan Mosher made 24 saves for the shutout and Samuel Morneau scored twice as the P.E.I. Rocket hammered the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 8-0 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action Wednesday.
Morneau opened the scoring with a goal at 4:10 of the first period, giving him 26 on the season for the playoff-bound Rocket (28-24-8).
Adam Polasek doubled the lead 10 minutes later and Michael Ortika made it 3-0 with his fifth goal of the year before going into the first intermission.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL, it was: Remparts 6 Foreurs 2; Olympiques 4 Tigres 3; and Voltigeurs 4, Cataractes 1.
At Charlottetown, Andrej Nestrasil got his 16th of the year at 1:52 of the second, chasing Cape Breton netminder Andrew Hayes who was replaced by Alexandre Veronneau. Hayes finished with 12 saves on 16 shots, while Veronneau finished with 19 saves.
However, P.E.I. kept it coming as Alex Noel scored on the power play at 3:45 of the third period and Olivier Croteau made 6-0 at even strength just under two minutes later.
Felipe Corbo added one at 7:38 and Morneau completed the scoring with just over a minute left to play.
The Screaming Eagles, who will miss the post-season, dropped to 17-40-5.
Remparts 6 Foreurs 2
At Val-d'Or, Que., Vincent Barnard had a goal and an assist as Quebec hammered the Foreurs.
Olivier Hinse, Mikael Tam, Mathieu Lavallee, Frederick Roy and Jonathan Audy-Marchessault also scored for Quebec (43-15-4).
Jean-Francois Leblanc and Nicolas Larocque-Marcoux replied for Val'd-Or (22-32-7).

At Gatineau, Que., Philip-Michael Devos scored with 90 seconds left in regulation as the Olympiques edged Victoriaville.
Felix Bergeron had two goals and Nicolas Deslauriers also scored for Gatineau (37-17-8).
Charles-Antoine Roy, Phillip Danault and Yanni Gourde scored for Victoriaville (33-25-4).

At Drummondville, Que., the Voltigeurs jumped to a 3-0 lead and didn't look back to defeat Shawinigan.
Jonathan Brunelle, Pier-Antoine Dion, Sean Couturier and Andre Bouvet-Morrissette each scored for Drummondville (41-14-7).
Dave Labrecque had the lone goal for the Cataractes (37-21-3).
