Matthew Boudreau, Carl Gelinas and Darcy Ashley scored in the shootout as the Halifax Mooseheads edged the Moncton Wildcats 4-3 in QMJHL action Tuesday night.
Thomas Flynn and Brandon Gormley scored in the shootout for Moncton but rookie Anthony Terenzio's save off Allain Saulnier ended up providing Halifax with its winning margin.
In the only other league game, the Quebec Remparts defeated the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 4-2.
In Moncton, N.B., Brent Andrews and Darcy Ashley scored first-period goals to stake the Mooseheads to a 2-0 advantage. But Moncton rallied with third-period goals from Daniel Pettersson, Patrick Downe and Saulnier to take the lead.
Gingras' goal at 18:39 forced overtime.
Terenzio finished with 46 saves for Halifax (19-39-3) while Brandon Thibeau stopped 32 shots for Moncton (30-22-9).
