{allcanada} GIBSON AND BECK WIN CANADIAN HOCKEY LEAGUE'S WEEKLY AWARDS

TORONTO -- Chicoutimi Sagueneens netminder Christopher Gibson won the Canadian Hockey League's goaltender of the week award on Wednesday.

Gibson made 36 saves to earn his fourth shutout of the season in a 3-0 win over the Lewiston Maineiacs on Feb. 24 and won all three games last week with a .958 save percentage and a 1.00 goals-against average.

The 18-year-old Finn is ranked second among North American goaltenders by NHL Central Scouting ahead of this summer's NHL draft and leads the QMJHL with a 2.05 GAA and a .931 save percentage in 31 games.

Peter Di Salvo of the Oshawa Generals and Thomas Heemskerk of the Moose Jaw Warriors were also nominated.

Taylor Beck of the Guelph Storm was named the CHL's player of the week after scoring four goals and nine assists with a plus-6 rating.

Gabriel Levesque of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan and Brendan Gallagher of the Vancouver Giants were also considered for the award.
